  • The world: At war, on fire, collapsing before our eyes
  • The world's governments: Falling to fascism and right-wing insanity
  • People's rights: Slowly disappearing
  • Capitalism level: Late-stage
  • The future: Only going to get worse

But yeah, technology is why adolescents are unhappy.

Only that it's not the governments falling to facism, but the voters. Manipulated by propaganda on a unheard-before level... via the web

It's not the rights getting somehow magically lost. It's a push by lobbyists wanting to have more control over their workers/clients/customers/whatever amd who pay millions on pushing false narratives and propaganda... via the web

Late-stage capitalism: Same, same...

But the web getting exploited to spread narratives and manipulating people on a scale never before possible is of course totally unrelated to the situation right now. 🤡

the partial root to these problems is actually technology and social media.

people vote and have to protest, if they’re fed russian social media propaganda and they’re too numb to protest against industries emitting carbon into the atmosphere and governments too slow to react to climate change, you can see pretty quickly this becomes a huge problem.

right-wing insanity: social media polarization

Technology is why you know about all of that stuff happening. It's always been happening. The only difference is we were ignorant of it all in the past. So in a way, yes...technology is why adolescents are unhappy.
