Lol. Sales stats for the iPhone 16 and Pro aren't out yet, or at least I couldn't find any. Will update this post once the numbers are out.

I think that's pretty reasonable? If there are good offers for pre-ordering, why not?

Way better than pre-ordering video games. But that's a pretty low bar anyways.

It's OK for Google to massively overcharge for Phones, it's only bad when Apple does it.
