yeah but like if it's stored right next to the sink, and somebody washes their hands, the water particles containing the thing that is washed off (be it poop particles or greasy substances) go everywhere, from experience. including on your toothbrush, right?

Mythbusters did a test of poop particles on toothbrushes stored in areas all around their workshop and IIRC, the one in the bathroom actually had one of the lowest amounts of poop particles on it.

What they didn't say was Jamie and Adam were shitting themselves in the workshop on a regularly basis.
