and so is the press :( websites and content creators enshittification is as bad as other companies (one could even argue they have been among the first to do that)
Too late, there's a little blood in the water so now everyone hates Microsoft and is pouncing on every drop they think they smell. Being part of an angry mob is fun!
Don't worry, in a couple of weeks or months some other big company or rich person will become the focus and everyone will forget about Microsoft again.

No, but at work it's someone else's problem. I'm so glad that my employer agreed to replace my Windows machine with a Mac.

Because work usually does provide the computer and they don’t want you to tamper with it too much.

Because the software we write has to run on windows and only windows. No Linux or wine or any other platform. It’s a fixed requirement from our client and unfortunately I don’t see that changing.

There's no alternative, Linux doesn't meet my needs as a PC user so I'm stuck with windows.
I guess you'll have to accept your fate.
This seems like bullshit to me. I've not seen anyone complaining their VPN isn't working. And any business with staff using VPNs would not be happy if they managed to let that update get applied.
I noticed my main VPN and backup VPN failing to connect the other day, but that was 3-4 days ago. Haven't tried since, because I switched to Pop!_OS in that time.
At the time I thought it was just my ISP being my ISP.
E: Both with Wireguard and OpenVPN, across multiple servers.
I've been dealing with a VPN failure at work.
About 80% of my day has been lost due to access issues into the secure space I work, since about 6 days back.
Running Windows 11, is updated, VPN works perfectly

The System's VPN imementation is broken. All of them are broken.
So like, the 0 that use that implementation. Like really, IPsec? No openvpn support? No wireguard support? What is this, 2004?

It's a crap platform, but it's the company's fault.

Our sister company had their VPN broken by this and we had to switch to another system. Even though it wasn't a particularly secure VPN (IPSec), the builtin Windows VPN was extremely reliable and convenience compared to shit like Pulse.
In fairness, Surfshark appears still to work.
Coincidentally I saw Edge pop up an ad for Microsoft VPN for the first time as soon as I started it today... Hmmm
Glad I dumped Windows in favor of an OS that doesn’t suck.

Perhaps click bait, but based on MS' own list of issues with April's upgrade patchset.
I'm running windows and my nordvpn still works. So maybe this article shouldn't even exist and the OP should lose all credibility when ti comes to anything technology related.
Oh wonderful! For all of our users that use VPN, we’re just screwed. Glad we began blocking access from non-Windows computers 😊

So because VPN works for you, it's impossible for it to not work for literally anybody else?
I work for an MSP managing thousands of workstations and servers. I'm also the "VPN guy" so I deal with them constantly every single day.
Perhaps you should ask questions before making assumptions.
Has anyone here been running into this issue realtime since the update?
