I would like for app search to start right as I enter the app drawer and I want the app to start as enough chars are typed to match the app without additional clicks. I’m aware of 0launcher, kiss, and other launchers doing this (I believe I tried all the launchers available on f-droid) but I want to stay with trebuchet style drawer. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Update: I think I will stick with Olauncher. I've just discovered that it allows to edit the names of applications in the drawer. This eliminates the need of icons for me.

I use Nova launcher, and whenever I swipe up, it does this exact thing. Pretty sure lawnchair laundry can do this too

Don't think hanging your laundry on a lawnchair will help, but the lawnchair launcher probably can.

Kvaesitso has a setting to enable start right after opening the drawer if that's what you want though it's not as minimal like olauncher. https://www.f-droid.org/packages/de.mm20.launcher2.release/

thanks for your reply. Kvaesitso seems to depend on closed google libs.

I had that, and much more. But the app has no updates lately. It's still usable tho! T-UI (Terminal based launcher) https://f-droid.org/packages/ohi.andre.consolelauncher/ app names aren't the only commands. Check their wiki or docs. Good luck!

thanks for your comment. I've tried T-UI before and the problem is that the suggestion list is quite small and does not contain icons. otherwise it is fun to use

the look however is a two side coin olders in public trasport may find it too disturbing
