I know what you meant but unless you're gaming there's nothing you can do with a Pixel 8 that can't be done with the 4a (though I usually reccomend the P5 because for a few dollars more you can get wireless charging and significantly better battery life).

extremely old

Dude it's less than four years old lol I get what you are saying but Q3 2020 is not that long ago.

The Pixel 5 is not much more expensive and is still a great phone with good battery life and good camera, and the last Pixel small enough to used one-handed. It also has wireless charging which is missing on the 4a.

If your friend isn't gaming or doing anything CPU-intensive the P5 is what I would reccommend today. Everything afterwords has been an incremental upgrade for significantly more money.

Balena Etcher is what you want, though AFAIK if you're making a Windows installer no Linux programs have the convenient options to disable TPM and online account etc that make Rufus so nice.

Got a link? I'd be curious to read that.

It's not hopeless! The Fediverse is AFAIK entirely nonprofit, and smaller instances means more moderator eyes on everything, too.

If I had to predict the future, I think apps like Reddit, Twitter, Tioktok, etc will be the places for entertainment and the Fediverse will become the place for conversation.

Reddit has been trying hard for years to move beyond being a discussion forum to another mindless scroling app.

The reason is because in the time people read one discussion thread they only see one ad, but scrolling memes, etc they will see many more. It makes the ads much more valuable.

I've come to realize the Linux basics are actually a lot easier to learn compared to Windows and MacOS, the hard part is un-learning the old ways and habits of doing things. Like if one day everyone on earth forgot how to use operating systems, I'd bet Linux would probably be the one that catches on. It's only because we're so used to the idiosyncrasies of stuff like Windows that it feels more natural.

If it's not the OS drive it's prooobably fine.

The reason is because they use that stuff to help determine if you're a bot.
