Are you saying that because something you posted got deleted?

I imagine it's a tough community to moderate. A lot of truly unpopular opinions are controversial or otherwise offensive and people don't want to up vote that kind of content despite that being the idea behind the sub.

It depends what you are after.

Even though Google has a long history of killing their products I doubt they'd do it to Google Drive anytime soon. You could upload it there and make it publicly available. Proton Drive is newer and preferred by a lot of people for numerous reasons. It has a 5GB limit. You could probably use that.

I feel like the key is having at least one other place where it is in the event one service dies.

That said there are paid services out there that would likely keep your files indefinitely and are unlikely to shutdown anytime soon.

Kind of similar in the unpleasant aspect but I'd say someone who doesn't know when to stop and take things seriously.

If you are looking for information related to Tor you could probably find some discussion of it in privacy focused communities and instances.

Maybe try searching related topics like Tor or the podcast Darknet Diaries. If you are looking for a fake Rolex or the onion versions of news sites like the BBC you can just search for those directly instead of jumping through hoops to end up there anyway.

I would say the Internet as well. It has dramatically shaped how we interact with the world and has made a lot of information more accessible.

There are probably better overall answers like farming, the printing press, vaccines, transistors, and fertilizer but I feel like a lot of them are if we didn't have X we wouldn't have Y situations.

If it works mind following up in an edit or comment so anyone who stumbles across this post knows?

The PCGamingWiki is also another good resource especially for older or more obscure games. Most fixes are Windows specific but they can be used on Linux. For example here is the page for Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit where it links fan patches and an open source engine recreation.

If someone is really desperate there's always the option of searching GitHub issue pages like dxvk to see if it has been documented, if there is a temporary fix, if a fix is on the way, or if it's going to remain a constant issue (ex. FiveM).

Ah my mistake. I wasn't sure if it was a subtitle like Alan Awake 2: An American Nightmare.

You may want to try searching around GitHub. There's a few posts regarding vkd3d.

https://github.com/HansKristian-Work/vkd3d-proton/issues/1754

If you scrolls down to the bottom there are a few potential fixes mentioned in the form of launch commands.

There was this comment on Reddit as well

well there is some good news and bad news...the good news that i got it some fixes from other sites that it all need to do add env command line to your proton terminal is add this

export VKD3D_DISABLE_EXTENSIONS=VK_EXT_mesh_shader VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_0 VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL=6_5 %command%

then my fps went from 12 to 45 to 51 fps...and fbi lettering is restored as well, weird??

it looks like it disable vk_extension_mesh shader from use since vkd3d-proton is broken and bad news is its running 60% slower than windows 11 23h2 during testing both os...i lost fps is not cool dude who make vkd3d-proton 2.10, better fix it soon with next revison sooner

Still mostly spitballing but maybe it will get you going in the right direction or someone else can elaborate.

I don't own the game so I can't offer a lot of help but have you tried ProtonDB?

There are two posts saying that they needed to use an older version of Proton.

https://www.protondb.com/app/202750

It doesn't seem like there's much else there or on the PCGamingWiki related to it besides the audio issue fixes.

Dumb question but were they common where you were when you were a kid?

[-] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

That reminds me of the cheap weighted blanket reviews I saw where people were complaining about them leaking beads after a while. I think it was glass then though.

Where did you get your bamboo rayon pillow cases?

The picture I linked is of a buckwheat pillow. Had no idea they were a thing before today.

What about silk or bamboo pillow cases?

I've only ever really used cotton pillow cases and cotton stuffed pillows. I recently upgraded to a foam pillow that I'm enjoying.

Fake Dentist perhaps? Something about getting cavities filled.

Fake McDonalds? Not sure.

I feel like I do this a lot with podcasts. I started watching the Gus and Eddy podcast and finished it about a month before the last episode was released for example.

It could be anything though. An online game, an OS, a console, TV show, a forum, or anything else. I'm just curious what people have to say.

It also doesn't need to be "dead". It could just be a significant change where a chunk of the community left.

Mine was our CRT TV. I would rapidly push the power button on and off because I thought the picture coming and going looked cool but eventually it fell inside of the TV. I think I later stuck a magnet on the TV.

Specifically Arch. I found a GitHub page for xbox360wirelesschatpad but the installation instructions are for Windows. I know LibUSB is available but the vjoy driver doesn't seem to be. I feel like there's probably some comparable package.

There might also be an alternative way to do this all together. There seem to be a few methods of doing this on Windows using third party applications.

I am mostly doing this for the novelty of it but I feel like it could be useful for navigating my PC from my couch or responding to messages through Steam.

It seems like this whole process is pretty plug and play with the Xbox One controller and it's chatpad but that's not what I am after.

I was going to say replaying but I feel like that limits the question to games like Prey or Fallout New Vegas that have endings and games like The Sims 2 or Cities Skylines where you can play indefinitely end up excluded.

I'm not really referring to games like League of Legends where you're coming back every month. More so games where you stop playing for an extended period of time.

I don't necessarily mean adult as in NSFW.

I'd probably bring in my RG280V. It was my first handheld emulator. I had emulated games on my phone in the past and even used a Bluetooth controller but playing on it felt different. More real in a way.

I grew up with the Game Boy so the idea of having thousands of games on the go is pretty neat to me.

I've since moved on to the RG405M.

What about you? Do you have anything neat or special to you that you could talk about for a couple minutes?

Would love to see photos as well

I really wanted a modded Xbox 360 when I was younger because I thought being able to play 'backed up' games and having a custom dashboard was really neat.

I ended up buying one last year to fulfill that childhood wish.

It seems like the benefits are having the device lock/wipe itself after a set amount of attempts in case of a brute force attack and not having to run software to decrypt the drive on the device you plug it into.

I included a picture of the IronKey Keypad 200 but that's just because it's the first result that came up when I was looking for an example. There seem to be a few other manufacturers and models out there and they probably have different features.

I am curious what do you think of them? Do you think they are useful? Do you find it more a novelty?

It was an ExplainingComputers video titled Very Useful Small Computing Things that made me think of them.

I'm not talking about a hex key that extends in length but one where it can collapse in on itself to increase in size.

I did some digging online but all I could find was a patent from a company called TeleHex but it kind of sounds like they came and went in the mid 2000s. They're website doesn't seem to exist.

I feel like it could save space in my pocket compared to a typical hex key set or a multibit.

I was hoping I could at least find a bootleg version on Ali Express.

FOMO stands for Fear Of Missing Out.

I've tried playing some JRPGS because they are considered classics and detective games like LA Noire before realizing the genre just wasn't for me.

I've also been stuck in the mentality of if I want to play a game in a series I need to play the prior games. I'm doing this currently for Deus Ex, the Witcher, and Splinter Cell. I guess I'd consider that FOMO to a degree.

Edit: I meant FOMO as in the fear of missing out on something relevant. Not necessarily something that is intentionally being time limited like raids or micro transactions.
