Uh thanks. I was curious about it, It didn't really surprise me to know apple stole the idea from someone (like any other big company). Thanks for your answer and time!

Yes, I know and I've seen them before but you said apple stole their idea, no? I'm curious to know more

You can also use it as-is if needed without going crazy from ads and notifications everywhere like other brands tend to have.

Isn't it bad since Google == Far from privacy?

Yes, that's obvious, what I mean is if they have some kind of tools/functions that make it be able to do something others can't. The example that comes in mind is when I was checking a website someone suggested me https://my.rhinoshield.eu/ where it says "your browser isn't supported to do whatever it does, please install chrome"

Firefox

vs

Chromium based browser

I'm really curious if it's real or some bullshit. Do chromium based browser have something Firefox doesn't? I'm talking about all those "Please install Firefox to use X" because I doubt it

Yeaaah i fking hate it "Please install google chrome to use this feature" nah, Imma skip it entirely

Both snake and camel case. Sometimes I mix it in the same project and I hate myself for it

Don't use KDE then🤷‍♂️

Those assholes! They should make an OS for free!!! How dare they ask for support?!?!

No one forces you to support them, if it's so annoying just disable it. I wonder if makes you happy work for someone for free... Hope it will happen to you so you'll understand how bad it is :)

So, asking you to VOLUNTARILY donate IF YOU WANT to with a pop-up you can simply ignore and/or disable is advertising? I don't understand... I mean, they give you a product for free, full of good features and updated regularly, and the moment they ask you to donate, again, IF YOU WANT to, it's considered advertising...

You're so sad, dude.

Hello everyone!

Recently, I saw so many posts about this and I started to think about degoogling (degoogleing?) my life.

I've started with fdroid and found some nice apps in there and I'm curious to know some alternatives I may or may not know

  • Youtube: Currently, I use ReVanced and even though is just the default app with something in it, I want an alternative with background listening, import my subscriptions w/ notifications and if possible with sponsorblock
  • Mail: Using a combo or Gmail + proton. I started to use proton recently and I want to move everything there when I have time. Suggestions here?
  • Cloud storage: Self hosted/proton? Alternatives
  • Gallery app: Stock
  • Video player: Stock
  • Music player: Stock
  • 2FA app: I have Authy and I tried to install aegis. I also have Ente but I've never used both
  • Mail app: Using K9 and the app is awesome compared to google or Samsung Mail
  • Password Manager: Bitwarden
  • Weather app: Currently, using Breezy weather

If possible, apps with a nice looking UI, modern with/without Material You

I'm using a Samsung S23 and I would like to know how bad it is to change ROM with something better and if it's really worth Pixel + GrapheneOS. Thanks

Edit: I forgot the most important one with probably no alternatives (?) Thanks to @[email protected] (idk how to mention)
