Needless to say, in neither case the discussion originated from a technical issue, both times we were arguing online about politics.

Once I was told that I deserved to be fired and, another time, I was told that I am unable to think properly so I shouldn't work as a software developer.

Both remarks were quite painful because they were not questioning my ideas/opinions but my professional abilities. I confess that in my "down" moments those thoughts tend to pop up even years later.

I can not "unsee" it any more, thanks.

I have already started hearing protectionistic proclaims about Chinese EVs in Europe. Sounds awkward when every single piece of technological hardware is made there and nobody has ever complained for decades. But when businessmen see their domain under threat they become aggressive.

Not in my language but it my local dialect "va' in mona" or "va' in figa" both translate to "go to (fuck a) p***y" and are short forms of

Va' in figa to' mare

which suggests the listener should go fuck his own mother's p***y. Very common insult in north-eastern Italy with no equivalent even in standard Italian.

In Italy the template names are "Tizio", "Caio" and "Sempronio" whose origin dates back to the Middle Ages when they were used in legal cases as default names, probably inspired to the Gracchi roman family (Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus and Gaius Sempronius Gracchus). Another common name often used in examples is "Mario Rossi".

Even here it Italy is has worked perfectly so far. Our position as a first destination for migratory fluxes is serving extremely well far right politicians with xenophobic arguments. Things are not going to end well for us and for th whole Europe (contagion is rapidly expanding). The economic crisis will do the rest. Meanwhile nearby autocracies are rubbing their hands.
