Good to know, thank you

As far as I know on my main account I'm running xorg but the separate account with deepin does not specify. I think default is Wayland

I tried installing several times per different guides. I'll do my best to remember

Sudo dnf install "deepin desktop"

Sudo dnf install @deepin-desktop-environment

Sudo dnf group install "deepin desktop"

Probably one more I can't remember

Tried that but didn't work. Maybethere's specific tweaks I have to make first?

Or I wonder about gnome boxes....

I think the issue stemmed from my failed attempt to install deepin desktop. I removed the DE, but im sure there were lingering files or apps

Interesting, thanks

I agree, it is strange. But I run Intel tech in my laptop so maybe take advantage?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Thanks, I just imagine it working good given my dell xps 13 has all Intel drivers and such

yea that always confused me, I think it's clear linux; the one that's sorta built for intel products

I've ready that is a nice and very advanced OS. I run a dell laptop with Intel processor, so I was thinking of checking it out.I did a live disc and it felt like every other version of gnome.... Though there are probably many¹ features im not aware of. So what and who is this distro for. Me running Intel drivers, processor, CPU, would it me to make the swap?

Yup that did it. but when I report the errors, nothing freaking happens. it just loads and loads and loads and hangs.

Thanks alot. just the fact that when I try to install the deepin environment, it looks totally off and many important parts are not even functional. so its hard to narrow down if that DE is just crap or if I'm doing it all wrong

I BELIEVE DDE runs off lightdm. so theoretically, if I enabled lightdm, should the deepin environment finally work properly???

Hello all, I am brand new to fedora, so Im still learning the ropes. I've been noticing this red number 1 next to the file manager in the dock. Being a debian/ubuntu guy at heart, I don't quite know how to troubleshoot this. Hope you guys can shed some light; pic is below!

I have read many conflicting things, like always. Just wondering if there's a safe way to use several DE's on one distro without messing up my damn computer lol I've tried it several times and it always messed things up. I'm currently brand new to fedora workstation 38 too btw. Thanks alot

Hello all, sorry for such a newbish question, as I should probably know how to properly partition a hard drive, but I really don't know where to start. So what I'm looking to do is install a Debian distro, RHEL, and Arch. Want to go with Mint LMDE, Manjaro, and Fedora. I do not need very much storage, so I don't think space is an issue. I have like a 500+ something GB ssd and the few things that I do need to store are in a cloud. I pretty much use my laptop for browsing, researching, maybe streaming videos, and hopefully more programming and tinkering as I learn more; that's about all... no gaming or no data hoarding.

Do I basically just start off installing one distro on the full hard drive and then when I go to install the others, just choose the "run alongside" option? or would I have to manually partition things out? Any thing to worry about with conflicts between different types of distros, etc.? hoping you kind folks can offer me some simple advice on how to go about this without messing up my system. It SEEMS simple enough and it might be so, but I just don't personally know how to go about it lol. Thanks alot!!

Tbh I do not know the ins and outs of rhel based distros, so these have caught my interest. I've tries live usb of both and I really did like the feel of alma. Rocky I thought felt like every other GNOME system.... But I clearly dont really know much about these sort of distros and their capabilities. Are these considered enterprise grade? I have no clue. Would love to hear your thoughts on alma and Rocky and what makes them different that other distros. Thanks
