I'm using a Thrustmaster Eswap X Pro. The joystick and dpad modules are hot swappable and can be put in any orientation you prefer. They sell replacement joystick modules for $20, which is nice because you don't have to replace the whole controller if one gets stick drift.

[1983] Kill 'Em All by Metallica

Artist Info:

Album Info:

Track List

  • Hit The Lights
  • The Four Horsemen
  • Motorbreath
  • Jump In The Fire
  • (Anesthisia) Pulling Teeth
  • Whiplash
  • Phantom Lord
  • No Remorse
  • Seek & Destroy
  • Metal Militia

Runtime - ≈ 51 Minutes 20 Seconds

Cover Photo

Fun Facts

Kill 'Em All was originally intended to be titled Metal Up Your Ass, with cover art featuring a hand clutching a dagger emerging from a toilet bowl. The band was later steered away from this.

Personal Thoughts

Kill 'Em All was recommended to me by a buddy in our weekly exchange. My mom listened to Metallica a lot when I was growing up so I'm quite familiar with the band but had never done a proper listen of the album. It was alright, not what I would normally put on for myself but not bad either. My favorite track was Seek And Destroy.

If I owned an EV I would be too worried about battery degradation caused by the extra charge cycles to participate in anything like this.

Here's a script from GPT4:

#!/bin/bash

# Create a temporary file for storing file checksums
tempfile=$(mktemp)

# Generate MD5 checksums for all files in the current directory and its sub-directories
find . -type f -exec md5sum '{}' \; | sort > $tempfile

# Detect and delete duplicates
awk 'BEGIN {
    lasthash = "";
    lastfile = "";
}
{
    if ($1 == lasthash) {
        print "Deleting duplicate file: " $2;
        system("rm -f \""$2"\"");
    } else {
        lasthash = $1;
        lastfile = $2;
    }
}' $tempfile

# Clean up
rm -f $tempfile

This script can be run with Termux from the root of your internal storage. Usually /sdcard or /storage/emulated/0. Do not confuse this with running from root if you are rooted.

Before using a script that interacts with your files you should backup anything that is important just in case.

Furthermore, if you comment out:

system("rm -f \""$2"\"");

By adding a # in front of it like this:

# system("rm -f \""$2"\"");

You can run the script and see what files the script would delete without actually deleting them. I would recommend doing this as I have not tested this script.

It isn't open source, though.

I'm waiting for patches, mods, and a sale before playing Starfield, but it did get me thinking about space games, which led me to purchase KSP. I'm really loving it. I used to play a game called Spaceflight Simulator until the dev fucked over the entire player base that supported him since his game released. That game was basically the same concept as KSP in sandbox mode but in 2D. Making the jump to 3D graphics/physics has been really cool, and I'm glad to have filled the hole in my heart SFS left.

Awesome! Same here actually, played the original when it came out and this is my first time playing through Scholar. Far out, I'm trying out my first sorcerry build, and usually default to str. Subclassing dex so I can use short blades in my off hand

Day one and explanation.

[1972] Made In Japan by Deep Purple

Artist Info:

Album Info:

Track List

  • Highway Star
  • Child In Time
  • Smoke On The Water
  • The Mule
  • Strange Kind Of Woman
  • Lazy
  • Space Truckin

Runtime - ≈ 1 Hour 16 Minutes

Cover Photo

Fun Facts

Deep Purple originally didn't want to release Made In Japan commercially as they believed it would be impossible to reproduce the quality and experience of their stage act on an LP. This created a strong demand for bootlegs which led to a court case and later the official release of the album.

Personal Thoughts

Made In Japan was recommended to me by a buddy in our weekly exchange. I thought this album was great, the long instrumental solos are fantastic, I love this era of rock for this. Live music has definitely been growing on me lately, especially when properly recorded. My favorite track on the album was Smoke On The Water.

Mirrorland was recorded between 2015 and 2019. On LaLa Challenge, Olu says in his verse, "I been writing this album damn way too long." That song was recorded about halfway through completing the album.

Personal Thoughts

Mirrorland was pretty hit and miss for me. There were a number of tracks that just aren't for me personally, although I was still able to find a few I did like. My favorite on the album was Blue Moon, I also quite liked This Side.

I'm replaying Dark Souls 2 SOTFS with a couple buddies. Have also been playing Dark and Darker which is an incredible early access pvpve dungeon crawler.

Track List

  • Streetlight
  • Quantum Leap
  • ...And The Rain
  • Hey Moon
  • Keep Pushing On
  • The Crucifix
  • Head For The Country
  • Cop Killer
  • Matter Of Fact

Cover Photo

Fun Facts

Maus said that he wrote the album in a "search for the perfect pop song".

"Cop Killer" is an arrangement of Peter Hajba's1992 composition "Crystal Dragon" with newly-written lyrics by Maus.

Personal Thoughts

This was the second album recommended to me by the guy who recommended Hot Rats in our weekly exchange. I really liked this one, it would be a great listen on any relaxing day or solo drive. I found the dreary, mystical vibe created by the synthesizer and the reverberation of the lyrics to be quite enjoyable. My favorite track was Cop Killer.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I'll have to give that a listen!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I hope most developers stay away from Denuvo on Switch. Devs already have to squeeze the thing for every fps they can get out of it, it really doesn't need anything else bogging it down.

[1969] Hot Rats by Frank Zappa

Artist Info:

Album Info:

Track List

  • Peaches En Regalia
  • Willie The Pimp
  • Son of Mr. Green Genes
  • Little Umbrellas
  • The Gumbo Variations
  • It Must Be A Camel

Run Time - ≈ 47 Minutes 13 Seconds

Cover Photo

Fun Facts

Shuggie Otis, a bassist on the album, was only 15 years old at the time of recording.

Hot Rats was the first Frank Zappa album recorded on 16-track equipment and one of the first albums to use this technology. It was recorded on what Zappa described as a "homemade sixteen track" recorder. The machine was custom built by engineers at TTG Studios.

Personal Thoughts

I had heard Peaches En Regalia before, an old co-worker recommened I listen to it years ago and I have loved it since. A friend and I have started giving each other an album to listen to each week, and this was the first one he gave me. I really enjoyed the rest of it, though Peaches En Regalia is definitely my favorite track. Willie The Pimp I really enjoyed, too. I have started going through the unedited master takes released on The Hot Rats Sessions in 2019 and they're very interesting, Willie The Pimp's is fantastic.

Slightly Not Stoned Enough To Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid contains all 7 of the tracks on the EP by the same name, outtakes from "Closer To The Sun" and "Chronchitus", and some original tracks.

The track Tom And Jerry has a run time of 6:46 on the album. The song's actual run time is 1:48, it is followed by 3 minutes of silence before it plays a hidden track which is a demo of Closer To The Sun.

Personal Thoughts

I can't say I loved every track but overall I enjoyed this piece. It shows their range as a group, covering multiple different genres and sounds. My favorite track was On And On, I also really enjoyed False Rhythms.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 months ago

I would not be in favor of this personally. The thing is, a lot of music doesn't fall into a cookie-cutter genre. I wouldn't like the idea of people restraining from posting because they don't know how to classify a piece. Now if it was more of a suggestion I think that would be fine.

Wow! A port of a 13 year old game will soon run on 10 year old hardware? Keep on innovating R*!

[2014] F NOTE by Too Many Zooz

Artist Info:

Album Info:

Track List

  • To The Top
  • F.W.S.
  • Maritza
  • Noda
  • Get Busy

Run Time - ≈ 16 Minutes 28 Seconds.

Cover Photo

Fun Facts

Brass House is the band's self defined genre, it's a mix of Jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms, Funk, EDM, and House.

Personal Thoughts

Too Many Zooz was recommended to me yesterday by @[email protected]. I selected their first EP, F NOTE, and it was a really fun listen. Something straight out of a street performance that makes you feel bad for not carrying cash around anymore. Pellegrino sounds fantastic on baritone sax, and Muirhead equally good on trumpet. My favorite track was Get Busy.

Personal Note

I'm getting married on the 29th, my fiancée and I have been quite busy with the final preperations which is why I'm selecting such short EPs and missing days. Thanks to all for reading and for the recommendations, I will get around to all of them.

Personal Thoughts

This is another recommendation from @[email protected]. I had heard of Guerrero before but had no idea he had a music career. Road To Knowhere has a groovy, relaxing sound that I really enjoyed. Highway Hussle and Los Padres stand out to me, Los Padres being my favorite on the album.

In an attempt to broaden my horizons I will be listening to an album I have never heard before every day for ~~the next~~ 100 days. I thought it would be fun to post some information about the album alongside my personal thoughts on it each day as well. Maybe you can use these threads to discover new music, too. Or if you're familiar with a day's album, maybe you can share your thoughts and recommendations.
