If it's too long I don't even start reading, I back out immediately.

If I start reading and see it's a bunch of back story with too much detail I might skip to the next block. If it isn't to the point within the first five words of that block or the next I back out. I've got dopamine receptors to satisfy God dammit.

Pro tip for anyone living alone: Put away all but one of each thing, so that if you need an item and it's dirty, you have to clean it. Learned that trick a decade ago and I went from Mount Everdish to pretty much nothing.

Of course, I do things because they're fun to do. But those things don't require any effort. When people talk about motivating yourself it's usually about using the motivation as a tool to do things that take a lot of effort.

Someone not too long ago asked me how I motivate myself, and I was quite puzzled by the question, like "what do you mean motivate myself? That's not how motivation works?", because to me motivation has always come from external sources, like people, situations, experiences etc. But no, apparently some (many? most?) people can somehow motivate themselves. I'd like to have that power please.

I like this graph a lot. It's different, beautiful and gives a good overview. The colors could have been slightly better though.
