It's not that bad. The drivers are just as buggy as the Windows versions honestly. It's just that the Radeon drivers are so stable that it makes Nvidia look bad by comparison. And, notably, Nvidia is REALLY slow to add new features like what they need to fully support Wayland.
There's a circular reasoning happening that's causing Windows to stay dominant. Why isn't professional software being developed for Linux more? Because it doesn't get used in the workplace. Why doesn't Linux get used in the workplace? Because it doesn't have professional software support.
You need to break one of these things to succeed.

If you're using a Pi I don't see why you'd want to avoid learning Linux. Setting up and connecting to SSH servers is an essential skill for anybody doing anything on Linux that isn't purely desktop use.
Of course, I only meant on a day-to-day basis it doesn't affect my life much, I look queer as hell and I think I get about the same treatment from Hutterites and Mennonites as anyone else around here. I prefer not to compare so I don't mean to suggest that anyone has it better than me, they're just different. Escaping any cult means you have quite a nice bit of religious trauma to deal with in any case. Jehovah's Witnesses I'm moderately familiar with and I'm sure there's some shared experiences, I used to watch this channel Telltale, the creator being ex-JW, and I spotted many similarities to my own experience being Mormon.
I'm past most of it now, but something being so baked into your upbringing leaves you with a lot of growth to be done to say the least.

Migrate them to a modern filesystem, presumably. ext4 is extremely reliable, btrfs is less proven but much more featureful with copy-on-write and snapshots.
This isn't any type of surprise, ResierFS was marked obsolete some time ago now.
