Steam Next Fest

Demos still exist, sure. Just not anywhere to the scale and pervasiveness that they used to. Nor do they come in cereal boxes.

I remember when virtually every single game allowed you to play a 'Demo' for free, so you could find out exactly what the gameplay is like in any game before playing it. They often came in my cereal boxes as a kid, or free to pick up at the checkout. I still have a cool CD from the 2000s which has like five big studio name Demos in one.

Now that's Pepperidge Farm Remembers. Or did I out myself as too old?

I already have the right to say my mind and it doesn't help my living situation at all, meanwhile right-wingers thankfully utilise their right to call for my death, the concentration of power is all in businesses which right-wingers consistently protect, and wtf does it mean to defend stable families?

Undoing all the tax, benefits, and public services I've ever had wouldn't get me out of poverty. Undoing the business and the non-worker class price gouging and manipulating of me and my family, and instead having a better incentive than profit, absolutely would.

Absolutely this is why. And owning stuff isn't a job - only workers contribute to society.

Unfortunately, having bourgeoisie rulers and landlords is the central underpinning to capitalism.

I don't think 100 million will buy you a hill of beans in US politics. And I don't think they'll betray their class interests for any amount of money - what's the point in taking a $100m bribe if it means there's fair taxation and more equitable living that prevents them being top dog with that money?

Corporate subsidies and corporate tax evasion are always in competition for big dollar values. Not to mention unpaid wages.

Meanwhile there are POOR people getting some FOOD??!??!?

I appreciate the attempt to engage in discussion about it, but it is an interesting position. Do you not think your position directly competes with assertions from The Communist Manifesto, or State and Revolution, or most communist texts?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago

Honestly this might be the best bit to genuinely convince centrists

👏 Then 👏 read 👏 the 👏 Wiki 👏 page 👏

Because that will tell you the answer is 1. One zero. Because the number of dead civilians in the Tiananmen Square Massacre is zero. No civilian deaths there. Nada. Read the wiki page, it will tell you no deaths. This information brought to you by such Commies as:

  • the US Government,
  • the Washington Post correspondent (who was there all night),
  • the CBS correspondent (same),
  • and more!

Were there a limited number of deaths in protests elsewhere that wasn't Tiananmen? Yep, about 2-3 hundred across a few hundred cities. And that's bad! But is also pretty dang small relative to the protest size, and happens in all major protests in all countries everywhere.

This is the correct response. Practically all of global poverty reduction is being done by central planning, right now.

I read about Google already making it deliberately more difficult for addons to block under-the-hood trackers; do some ads not slip through uBlock on Chrome already nowadays?
