I really should figure out how to get to Lemmy at work. Reddit is wide open but my firewall blocks Lemmy in some random "catch all" filtering.

I crave retro futuristic. The flesh craves nostalgia. Also... pentiums and 512mb of ram would have fucking been cooked if they tried this lmao

Yep that's was my solution too. Same conclusion. And then while I was on that same live CD session, I said "meh, why not just switch if I'm using Linux to do my computing anyways..." Now if only I could do the same with my cellphone...

When I was using windows, I couldn't even delete the folder the games were in. Even after I changed permissions with all of my power....

I just switched all my systems over to mint. I used to think Linux was the "just at work" environment. But now I'm flipping it. I'm sick of Windows, I know it's less hassle but my digital well-being needs a break from ads.

Why does this keep happening? Is it me?

What are you doing? Like what's your end goal here? Are you attempting to make a point? Are you trying to say something deep? You're on fucking Lemmy arguing that apple good for walled garden and locked down systems....

Update: I chose mint. I can trust Mint to update the backend.

I'm about to switch back to Debian.Any reason I don't know of that Elementary OS would be a bad idea? I know Debian. I don't know the nuances of Arch or red hat.

I found my final missing FOSS video editor that finally gets me off Windows. I've been having issues with indexing on windows, and they keep turning on that fucking reminder to sign into One drive even after I destroy it with a registry change.
