In May, a court rejected Lai’s bid to halt his security trial on grounds that it was being heard by judges picked by Hong Kong’s leader. That is a departure from the common law tradition China promised to preserve for 50 years after the former British colony returned to China in 1997.

Don't tell me that British laws are actually that corrupt. No way, right?

Good on Chinese regulators for shutting it down. Someone has to be the adult in the room and say no to all the rampant M&A happening worldwide.

Of course, this operation was Russia's idea, but it blew up in their face. So America wins big by grinding through Russian equipment and army by just handing over their outdated equipment to Ukraine. Where does Russia puppeting America come into the equation? You seem very conspiracy minded.

Yes, but countries like France will at least resist and denounce American attempts that infringe upon their sovereignty.

Yellow-bellied Australia is unique in their submissiveness even amongst American allies.

Spineless Australia can't protect their own citizens from the US but they still delude themselves into thinking that they're partners with America, not a lapdog.

Developing world too. It's fucked how there's no jobs or wealth for Gen Z globally. We as a society failed their generation so much.

Three million dead due to the Afghanistan war alone wasn't brutal enough for you?

The systematic, institutional rape and torture of men, women, and children in Abu Ghraib was more brutal than anything defined in Sharia law but we still pretend that the occupation was clean.
