This is innovation, and problem solving the small stuff is a very important skill in the modern day work environment.

Do I wasn't to hand calculate an entire statistical analysis, no. I use excell.

It doesn't make the work any more or less valid. If you can Google something in under a minute, don't bother spending a tonne of time trying to remember it.

I live in the UK and was astounded at the sugar consumption when I visited the US.

The most interesting one was bread - it was so sweet, almost like cake, while our bread is just plan savoury bread.

There seems to be an OTT approach to added sweetness that I thought was bad in the UK but is next level in north America.

Another key difference was the milk in coffee shops. I went into Double cup and found some half and half (semi skimmed milk?) and dumped a bunch of it in my coffee. Nope literally half cream half milk. Blllerchhhh.

That just doesn't even exist over here.

Drinking coke - sugar free or otherwise - right after you brush your teeth will still fuck up your teeth.

It's rammed full of acid.

When you have 17 planners with 8 pages written in and constant sense of panic over a workload that is never done it's def beyond the "lol I can't pay attention sometimes too" crowd. Some people just don't know what it's actually like to be neurospicy.

Woman here, and genuinely, I don't know what's right.

I can recognise that m>f after puberty gives someone a strength advantage but at the same time it's hard enough having to transition without feeling even more marginalised by being banned from sports.

Maybe there needs to be just a women's and open category to recognise the strength handicap that cis women have for certain activities and allow anyone to compete in open, but then there's the challenge of prize money, viewers etc etc between the two that also needs to be managed appropriately.

At the end of the day, someone isn't going to be happy and for that there is no good solution, but we need to be doing our best for cis and trans athletes to make sure everyone has a chance to compete in the sports they live.

Chess? Banning trans competitors is fucking idiotic and the chess federation can fuck right off with that implied notion of women being less capable.

If you stop trying to vocalise the words in your head you can really break away from the the time limit and just fly through text.

This is what I do when I'm reading academic papers for writing reports to see if the content is what I need.

Takes a few seconds to scan it, take the understanding and made a decision on if it's worthwhile or not.

There's also websites where you can drop text and it will train you to read this way.

I'm the opposite end of that bell curve. Trained relentlessly for years and my 10k is still almost an hour and 20.

During the Reddit protest I got a professional certification. It's amazing what you can do when you're not doomscrolling...

We let our cats in the garden supervised if they want but they're indoor cats otherwise. One will go out for a short time and come back in if we go in, and the other one has absolutely no interest in going out and would rather cosey up on my pillow.

They're both elderly but have been that way since they were kittens/rescued.

We got them harnesses so we could take them out and see stuff but they weren't all that into it.

We have puzzle games and plenty of toys for them. The oldest loves a puzzle and can out maneuver our dog at them, but the younger one has a single braincell and is as dumb as a box of rocks. She's happy just to sit to your lap and get pets.

Every paper I write should have Makers Mark as a co-author...

I visited the Smithsonian air and space museum while over from the UK a few years ago.

I had a short space of time available, and all I wanted to see was the SR-71 blackbird and the space shuttle.

That was the day I found out there were two air and space museums.

Still haven't seen either of them.
