I mean really if you don't like your current DE, you can always just switch within your own distro. For example, you can switch from cinnamon to gnome for mint.

You hit it spot on. Exactly what I mean. I wish there was more and during my first time in lemmy back at july I've seen a few mastodon accounts being able to communicate here however we weren't able to directly influence mastodon or pixelfed.

News especially. I find Mastodon alot more positive than here sometimes. Not to say everyone is mean or anything of course. I just find it more cozy

Yeah the hashtags reach out to really any instance that is atleast related to Mastodon. I've seen a few misskey.io ones and a few others i forgot the names to but they both share alot
