In two twitch chats I moderate, I have a connection to OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 (!askbot question text here), I want to get around to make this into a proper bot that has a memory of the current conversations instead. Besides programming it, I need to trial it to see how much the expanded context costs me, currently both streams together are less than $2 per month (I tried GPT4 first, it was ~$1 per stream :D).

Also, ask for a raise at work ;)

Lemmy & XMPP selfhosted.

I don't count nextcloud because there's no network.

They mainly make sense if you have insane amounts of traffic and/or are a giant company with a lot of independent teams.

For most companies using microservices, these are not true.

For games, it’s demos. I pirated Pathfinder: KIngmaker, Cyberpunk 2077, and Baldur’s Gate 3 to demo them, PF:KM and BG3 I bought for full price shortly after (and deleted the shooter).

For music, I used to pirate anything from the RIAA, but I gave that fight up, and nowadays, I just buy everything.

TV shows, I pirate anything that’s not convenient to stream (which most of the time means anything not on Netflix or Amazon). I’d probably get HBO Max, or some other premium channels, but in Germany those are only available at one really shady and crappy streaming service (SKY/Wow) that I’ll never subscribe to.

Those other reasons are what would make those questions interesting. I have many regrets, some going back to my childhood. But I'd neither like to be 20 again, nor risk somehow not meeting my wife.

Between crypto and stocks (and I guess lottery and other negative EV betting stuff), all those time travel questions get ruined.

Might want to put iOS or Apple in the title.

Always first person. I can also always logic that I’m dreaming, which usually only results in me waking up, true lucid dream where I have agency are rare.

what is nee

née is a pretentious (and slightly incorrect) way of saying "formerly known as"

What do those do

Completely rebalance the AI, game play, units, everything. I can highly recommend getting it, it’s still in active development after all those years. For a slightly less balanced, but more expansive overhaul, get 3rd and 4th unique component for VP as well

Nah, talked a lot about them with people, and they always think it’s damn useful.

I had some as a tween

Nothing like them existed back then for me and people I know ;)

Playing Civ V with Vox Populi née Community Balance Patch née Communitas. When I’m bored, feeling bad, feeling blue and not wanting to play anything else, this is what I always return to and what’s by far my most played game. Always single player, not a single multiplayer game in 2447 hours.

Huh, never heard of that, is that a teeny or a local thing? I’ve had transition lenses for 6 or so years now, spent time in two countries, and no one thought them weird.
