If you don’t like the UN, Israel, then perhaps they should also repeal Resolution 181 (II).

I hate southerners and am from a proud Union state. What the hell are you talking about?

We called it senioritis. That sudden change of excitement to dread as seniors realize they are going to be separated from the peer group they’re mostly been with for years at their local school and now have to go out and make something of themselves on a new, unfamiliar environment.

Why does this discussion immediately turn to culling and eugenics? It’s like you can’t even admit there could be a problem. Fixing it will be hard, but few suggest those steps are the solution. Instead, it starts with realizing everyone can’t have the standard 2.5 kids. We cannot just keep going. Earth is finite and has finite resources. Adding people means less and less is available to everyone else. But people that want a ton of kids hate hearing that. So it becomes solution aversion (if you don’t like a solution, deny there is a problem) and strawmen, like claiming anyone that thinks there is overpopulation wants eugenics.

If you actually want to do some about climate change, step 1 is to stop having kids.

Well, we’re boned.

Yeah, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Agree or not (and I agree with what BLM stands for), it is sadly controversial. And I get why a business would not want employees overtly supporting or opposing something some customers could find controversial.

Here is how much I care about what you think:

I think the hard g sounds harsh and I hate it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

And none of that changes the “ji” is a common pronunciation of gi. Sure, go is the hard g, but y’all act like gif is the only word with the soft g.

The true stupid move is demanding that there is only one pronunciation. Like many worlds with variations, both are acceptable.

The guy that invented the GIF said it is pronounced Jif. And of course that is a common pronunciation for “gi” words, like gin, giraffe, ginger, giant, ginseng, and so on.

And before you say “but the g stands for graphics” tell me about what the p in MPEG stands for.
