Yes that was it. Chinas comments have been over the top for a bunch of issues in the past, there's no reason to just presume their stance has merit.

Especially since they are starting fires again rn regarding Taiwan and Japan in different context.

I really don't see that as a good progression. We want to focus on renewables because that's the most sustainable way to go. Why go back to nuclear again?

That said if you are saying that's where the industry is moving even though that's probably not the best approach, fair enough. My opinion has zero effect on the industry.

Aaand now I feel old

As people pointed out in another thread, nuclear energy is NOT the future and also a really bad short term solution,so countries like Germany are going back to coal short term to make the transitions to renewables in the meantime.

It's not a great solution, but without Nordstream, there's really not much else more sensible to do right now, just to make the transition.

So what about nuclear waste? I am opposed to nuclear energy because of all the reasons you pointed out, but also because we collectively decided to dump the waste somewhere underground where they will go on radiating for a few eternities more. Do you know if this bullshit or if that's a true concern?

One-China my ass, if West Taiwan wants to stay independent they should stop fiddling with the sovereignty of other countries.

And this is exactly what I suspected. So the comment from China wilfully ignored this, and the protests in South Korea probably did not take this into account.

I had a feeling this was just run of the mill procedure that's been propped up to appear unsafe by various interest groups.

Sounds like a slap alright. Like a slap on the wrist.

German here.

Even back under Merkel, elected parties had a habit of defining good goals and then rendering them impossible to hit through policy. This meant that no one could fault them for trying, and no one could fault them for not being able to hit them.

Nowadays my countrymen aren't as stupid anymore. That doesn't mean we can do anything about it, but especially since Merkel we don't believe any of these leaks anymore.

Can someone with knowledge chime in to tell how bad that is? I don't trust this article or China for that matter.

It's okay to be alone. There will be people later who will enjoy your presence, but if you're only comfortable alone that's okay. As long as you try every once in a while.

No.

I was gonna explain in this paragraph why this is bullshit but if you don't notice yourself you are probably beyond help.
