Well even if it's offline it can "die" for me since we are talking about having a game that I can play all the time, and being offline usually means it has an end which I can only reach so many times before it gets boring.
In theory that's what roguelikes or dungeon crawlers are for, but they either try too hard to be complex or give no time to idle/rest for a while (to not lose the flow of the battle), also roguelikes sort of make me feel uneasy because even if you can play like a god, it's the RNG that decides if you have a chance at winning or not.

Lost mine already.
Used to be Team Fortress 2 (before becoming free and the hats), then Super Monday Night Combat (but it died), then I went from game to game but couldn't fill the void, Trove sort of did it but then it got taken over by Tencent and the grinding got even worse (which was already very heavy), then Overwatch managed to get close... But then it went to shit (besides all the shit with Activision-Blizzard).

I'm still looking for something to fill that void, something where I can join a lobby/match, check the web between deaths and then go back to search for a new match and check the web while it happens.
Or something like Trove, something to grind that is simple/friendly, that I can take at my own pace (unless it's some sort of special raid or boss) but sadly most of those games either require too much focus for a long-ish time (DRG or Gunfire Reborn , I love them but it's tiring) or are just gambling disguised as games (fucking Tencent).
