This is not really a competition. Options are good.

That depends in her because it would be HER wedding.

If she is grateful enough, you'll get to walk her because you would have been her real dad all her life.

There is no written law that the bio that most be the only one who can walk her, its all just stupid wedding traditions.

If she grows to be a brat, and makes her bio dad walk her, then she doesn't see you as her real dad, and would be something for you to reflect on.

Sitting on his ass or going golfing while his tenants work their ass to give 70% or their salary to the landlord, only for the MF to raise the rent a 50% without warning because his mistress wants to go on vacation somewhere in the Caribbean, doesn't sound like a job.

I have a collection of extremely well edited AMVs. It is amazing the talent some people has, and I love to rewatch them often.

So, I was hired to make screen visuals for a beauty contest here in my city. I've spent 2 weeks doing the visuals in the computer of the people who hired me for this, with whom I have previously worked in the past, so in that computer I have everything to work with After Effects.

Last night was it, and they told me to come to help with the visuals.

But I got there, they had all of the visuals already, and they were testing the huge multiple screens, and had severe frame drops and worse of all, it was out of sync, and needed to be perfectly synced with the music.

They were using Resolume Arena, I quickly look up about possible solutions, but it seemed like I would need to transcode to DXV, a resolume proprietary codec. But I was running out of them, people would start coming in one hour.

So, I took the visuals where sync was the most important, pull out my superior Thinkpad with GNU/Linux, and open the terminal.

I tried using ffmpeg to decode, but soon discovered that I can't convert to DXV, so instead I recode the visuals at half the resolution.

In a few moments, the conversion is finished, and I give them the lower resolution videos.

They load the files into resolume, and the problem was fixed. Now it was synced.

The show went great, but I had other mini heart attacks during it.

But I can say that ffmpeg, a FOS software, saved the night.

As an additional note, they left me in charge of the music, so at the beginning of the night, before the event actually started, I just played my Kpop collection from Lollypop because I didn't want to play the typical terrible reggaeton.

If been in courses and workshops where people from the government party in my country teach people how to use twitter, specifically to boost the president and ministers posts. So they were training real people to act as bots and generate artificial engagement.

Also they are 100% using bots, and when bot accounts are removed they loose followers and claim that "imperialistic social media want to censor us".

I was taking a look at the Naomi Wu situation (A Chinese DIY tech youtuber who went missing after being watched by the government) and in one part they mentioned that she was concerned about her privacy, so started using Signal, but had a default chinese keyboard that had a keylogger and the police had looked into what she was talking on there.

I'm not sure if it was a mobile only thing, but it was mentioned that the keyboard app was used in like 70% por chinese smarthphones.

Now, I use AnySoftKey and refuse to use default keyboard apps, but how far can we reach on the keyboard security thing? Is typing on a computer or using a physical keyboard on a mobile device 100% safe? I think the keyboard issue is often overlooked and would like to know what recommendations your have? Or what should be known more?

So, I was thinking about this, and I realized that Kiwix might actually be one of the best apps for looking at information privately, for the following reasons:

  • Completely off the grid, so no tracking, no cookies, no spying by your ISP or people who might be monitoring your internet activity.
  • No browsing history.
  • You can bring your content anywhere.
  • No censorship.

Yeah, most of the official zim contents for Kiwix are inoffensive and is mostly general information, but imagine if you live in a country with heavy censorship and you want to inform yourself about topics that the people in power don't want you to look out, or imagine if you live in a community run by a cult and they control what you look at on the internet. Well, Kiwix is not on the internet, and at any moment you can hide or delete the kiwix content and there is no trace that you were looking at forbidden knowledge that the cult don't want you to know about.

I don't see people talking about these advantages, and I think it would be nice to point them out. What do you think?

To be clear, im queer and im in a relationship with a gay cis man.

Some days ago we were watching a sketch on YouTube about the gay best friend stereotype, where the joke was basically "I can be misogynistic and can walk into female dressing rooms because im gay". I was trying to gather my thoughts to write a piece about it, personally I have no problem being the "gay friend" to my female friends, but there are a lot of stupid and harmful misconceptions about it. I would like to hear some of your opinions about it.
