I suffered to get where I am, no one should have to go through that, we can do better.

The conservative mindset is #2, "No one should have it better than me!"
You're forgetting 3. If people who are in an out-group aren't suffering more than I am, I feel oppressed.
No, the Conservative mindset is, "I imagine that I suffered to get where I am after a small million dollar loan from Daddy, everyone should suffer like I imagine I did even if they didn't get free money from Daddy."
A more simpler description is ..... "the universe should revolve around me and my personal happiness and freedom" .... Therefore ... "If anyone disagrees with that, then they are communists and anarchists that want to destroy world order ..... my world order"

Kids these days don't need to suffer, but a bit of hardship and discipline can be a good thing. I like the idea of some kind of mandatory year of military service, like they used to have, but not necessarily in the military, because that's bullshit. You should be able to do other community services like cleaning public places or helping the elderly or check train tickets. It should also not clash with any study careers or anything. I'm not sure it's feasible, I haven't really thought this out exactly, but I'm sure someone's willing to point out everything that's wrong with this idea.
1 year customer service. 2 if you make an annual salary over a certain threshold.

Yeah, but that's not the decadence they're talking about. They mean things like "feeling like yourself" and "having good sex."
Ok my dumbass doesn’t know what that word means lmao. Thought it meant great excess, luxury, etc. but it’s more all the negative things associated with those.
I think the big issue is that the Republican definition for it is closer to: when minorities have it too good by not being murdered often enough.

I read it as "a lack of values and decadence" as in "the lack of decadence is a bad thing".
