It will keep happening, but in the Fediverse, it will be moving to other instances instead. The fediverse will be a bunch of defederation/federation wars.

Summer is better during winter, but winter is better during summer.

I mean, people use dash-cams protect themselves in case of a car crash, so do you think people in the future would also use body-cams protect themselves in case of being involved in a fight?

I'm male aged 19-22, I have an older brother about 4-5 years older (giving age ranges for better anonymity). Relationship is... not good (read: it's terrible, horrifyingly terrible, arch-nemesis). How about you?

Edit: added age for context

I just got my package of new earphones from Best Buy, and the box was fucking empty. I mean there is the box and instruction manuals and charging cable, but the actual earphones aren't there. They've used Shipt (which is like a doordash but for packages) but the box was inside another layer of packaging which was supposedly sealed before the delivery person got it so I'm leaning towards it being store employee theft, or someone returned an empty box and the employees didn't verify it.

I'll be contacting Bestbuy and Credit Card issuer as soon as customer support hours start.

I've literally never lost a package, I'm just so, annoyed. The money will probably be back, but like dude I just wanna listen to some music. Ugh... I guess phone speakers will have to do for now.

PSA: Record a video when opening packages just in case you need to file a dispute. I didn't but I don't think there's gonna be an issue since these things rarely happen to me and disputes are rarely filed.

So have you ever been defrauded?

Update: I used the customer support chat and told BestBuy about it, and they gave me a replacement, this time I picked it up at the store and opened the box right in front of the employee just to be safe. Nothing was missing this time. 😀

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don't look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I'd go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I got my uBlock Origin ready to kill all the ads. That shitty website will not get a cent out of me.

What about you? Do you still use reddit?

I mean, exactly how invasive are default operating systems? (Like Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Android, iOS) Do they log your keystrokes, log passwords, capture screen, upload your photos, videos, or audio? (Assuming you aren't a target of government) Is it even possible for the average person who doesn't feel comfortable messing with installing operating systems to have any privacy?

What I means is do you use your phone speakers, laptop speakers, some other type of speakers, headphones, or earbuds?

I used to use headphones to listen to the audio from my youtube videos but I recently just broke the headphones, so thats why I'm got curious and want to ask. Feels odd to listen on phone speakers after using headphone for a while.

Okay so yesterday, I changed my password as a precaution because of the hack, and just now I decided to clean my browser tabs and re login and almost forgot my password. I'm done dealing with passwords.

What password manager do you recommend?

Features I’m looking for

-Open Source

-Can be synced to cloud (I don’t want self host)

-Can be accessed via a browser

-Cross platform, the more platforms, the better

-End to End Encrypted, and Encrypted at rest on my device, also need some way to authenticate before releasing the password, like a pin or biometrics

-Autofill for browser and apps

-Free (can be a freemium model, but I need the base tier to be free, too broke to spend money on this lol)

-Can export the passwords to a file

I never used a password manager before so sorry if I seem like a noob.

I know I could google it, but I want the lastest info, not some outdated reddit post.

Edit: Woah, those replies are fast. I think I'll use Bitwarden. Thanks for recommendations! Now I don't need to worry about forgetting passwords anymore. 😄

Edit 2: It seems I've forgotten my email password as well as a few other accounts I haven't logged into for a while. Damn, should've used a password manager earlier.
