DF works on Linux since the beginning.
The Lazy Newb Pack was always available for Linux and through Proton the Steam Pro Version also worked from day one and I never had issues.
It even works with DFhack.
Tbf I use mine daily and had to pause a second thinking what would be the third mode. (never use it to measure depth)
