I get resentful if I keep letting people lean on me while feeling like I couldn't ask for the same thing.

Some, perhaps many, would say, "As you should."

Trust is a big deal. Trust is, basically, belief in the future presence of another's support—whether emotional, or whatever you want to define it as, which can change per person.

This is why solid, trustworthy friendships take soooo long to develop, even literal years; they are mutual support, and people are so different that the best way to uncover this (since you certainly can't force it) is through time and lesser experiences, which sort of double as tests of trustworthiness. While I've lethargically been on my way out of Christianity for years now, Luke 16:10 comes to mind.

Small acts of leaning should be reciprocated. If not, back off in both depth and frequency of communication and seek out others who do reciprocate.

I suppose I passively assess based on simply how the other person responds to questions of any kind involving my or their life, or my decisions. If there is a general trend of negativity, and your efforts to change it aren't working, then it's time to step back and look elsewhere.

That's a long time. Well, thankfully, we don't have to tell even our closest friends everything. You're always free to compartmentalize and share different things with people who you think are most likely to help you. I don't think there's any one person with whom I share everything, personally, at least at the moment.

That's… I would find maturer friends. I can't believe that's what their reaction is to your difficulties.

cars nowadays put their owners under surveillance

There are websites that compare the invasiveness of different cars. Old cars are fine, but getting away from automobiles is still good when possible.

Then keep it up!

Like what? Could they be nullified if we just disabled its Internet access?

Interesting, thanks. Apparently the low reviews are from prior years before they stepped up their game, from what I can tell.

I tried Collabora on a Galaxy Droid and it was such a massively buggy disappointment: in a .ODS file, I couldn't backspace more than once; I could only delete one character at a time. I had to enter another character or move the cursor or do something else before it would take another backspace. I don't understand how this app has as high reviews as it does, or no one has used its spreadsheet editor.

I so far can't get away from Google Drive because tables are absolutely critical to my work... Any ideas to help de-Google would be deeply appreciated!

Update: The search continues, as ONLYOFFICE did not work out either and similarly had file-editing problems. For now, I've resorted to .TXTs...

Their website says to get it on F-Droid: https://molly.im/download/fdroid/

But it's not on there. Did it get delisted for some reason?

I'm onto borrowing a bunch of sci-fi movies (like Blade Runner) from the library after realizing that it carries them!

And I'm thinking of giving in and posting in /r/cf4cf, finally... not sure of what the equivalent community might be in the Lemmiverse...

Which is hopefully used locally only.

Ha. Haha, ha. Hahaha. Hahahahaha.

Thanks! Is it just me, or are videos from this website no longer loading?

I rely on Bitwarden (slooowly migrating from... a spreadsheet...) and am thinking of keeping a master backup to be SyncThing-synchronized across all my devices, but I'm not sure of how to secure the SyncThing-synchronized files' local access if any one of my Windows or Android units got stolen and somehow cracked into or something. I'm curious about how others handle theirs. Thanks in advance for sharing!

This is really intriguing, but am I reading the instructions correctly? Call me dumb, but I don't know how to reinstall Win10 Home; I don't have a recovery CD or anything like that. I'd also need to back up everything first... which would be a pain...

I sometimes lose typed text due to form issues, accidental edits/deletions, etc. and am really interested in any running keylogger for Android phones. Thanks for any help or ideas!

Wow, the attacks here are unbelievably disappointing. Why would I lie about this? Has none of you ever lost any typed text ever? Someone even had the audacity to say it exists but refuse to say where...

If not, how do we get one going? I'm new to Lemmy and /r/FreeGameFindings + /r/AppLab are the top subs that I would want to see recreated here!
