Its not hate. It's not toxic. It's dramatic irony. You don't have to laugh, but this isn't meant to be hurtful to anyone.

People can't handle momma jokes here?

Yep. There are strong movememts to undo what is really a very recent and very American practice of breeding in Brachycephaly. The American Kennel Club shamefully has contributed to these standards and glorified them in pure bred animals. Look at historical drawings and paintings of pugs as an excellent example. They were typically much thinner and had much longer snouts than what is idealized today. An increasing number of European breeders led quite strongly by the Germans are breeding Retro Mops or old fashioned healthier pugs. This has unfortunately not caught on in US (fuck the AKC - seriously), but retro pugs which are cross bred typically with terriers are starting to be a thing with a few select breeders. I have a retro mop. He outruns every single dog in his weight class in the dog park both in speed and endurance. He doesn't need a harness, he has a strong neck and uses a collar. No breathing issues whatsoever. For archival purposes please check out https://pugdogpassion.com/ Therese Rodin has been a huge influence in this modern movement and I wish everyone would review her teachings or speak to her before considering purchasing a Brachycephalic dog.

Unfortunately no. I don't understand this well enough to know why accounts don't sync, but that seems like it would be much better to me.

I really don't get the sense that Lemmy is being overwhelmed by users. Things be pretty quite in these here parts. If this kind of volume is bringing down what I thought was one of the main instances, Fediverse seems kind of doomed. I've long been worried about scalability. I've tried other instances and had issues. Each time I think should I give up or hop instances, make a new account etc. People will flock to the biggest most stable instances, but if they can't afford fancy hosting, everything starts to crumble

I mean you are partially right. Bringing back wolves would help in NA. They are supposed to be a part of the ecosystem and might help keep coyotes in check to a degree at least and would certainly keep killer deer population is n check. They were eliminated more out of fear than legitimate threat and killer deer have now far exceeded human threat compared to wolves.

Who wouldn't want to know? They probably invite all the people that say yes to a party and serve beer and popcorn and have everyone tell their stories. That's what I would do.

Underrated comment

Well yeah, and moreover I don't want to eat the damn olives after they've dipped their digits in there.

Steeve, unless you live in Palo Alto, you have a very pinky in the air definition of decent. I said X SDs above the average so that would account for inflation. I don't know the current number. At one point I think it was like $270k a year. Nothing completely insane. I would guess now it's probably like $450k a year roughly. You make that and you are as happy as someone making double that.
