Trouble is I live in the middle of nowhere so it's rare for me to find local listings for stuff. I do have a thrift store conveniently located right next to me, but they seldom have furniture. :(

Granted, they do still have furniture on occasion, I just need to do a better job of looking for it!

And here I am with half of my stuff still in totes after half a year of living in my current place ๐Ÿ˜… ~~In my defense proper furniture costs money and I'm stuck paying for electrolysis until August~~

Congrats on finally getting on meds. I'm glad they're already getting you going. :D

I talked about this later on in the other thread, but I came out to my sister (probably the one member of my family who isn't completely deranged), and she was super accepting! We met up again the day after for Easter at my mom's, and she gave me a bag with a bunch of her old clothes and some extra makeup stuff. ๐Ÿฅน

Hey! I was waiting for the next weekly update thread to come up, but I think Alyaza is otherwise occupied. Things went better than I ever could have hoped. She's completely accepting. Shoot, she might even be more excited about the whole thing than I am!

She said she'd probably have a lot of questions, which I'm obviously cool with. She loves the name I'm probably going to go with. She's down for clothes shopping, but I'm on my own with makeup because all she's ever used is mascara and eyeliner. What really got me was what happened the day after. We had Easter Sunday dinner at my mom's house. She showed up after I did, and she had a bag with her that she put in my car. I opened it when I got home to find that it was full of some of her old clothes + some extra makeup supplies. I genuinely couldn't have asked for more from her. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Holy shit, congrats! I hope the position treats you well. Things seem to be looking up for you more and more. :D

Work has been going okay. I'm (unfortunately) getting back into Runescape, so that's been my main method of passing the time both in the slower parts of my shift plus my weekends. I'm getting coffee with my big sister this coming weekend and, barring any last-minute hesitation, I intend to come out to her. I don't know how she'll respond, but she's always been the one person I can go to with stuff that I don't feel comfortable talking to my parents about, so I have my fingers crossed.

A lot of the actual coding/scripting work that I've done recently has been server stuff. I recently containerized all of my game servers with Docker and bash, and I'm now looking at switching from my current janky Minecraft Docker setup to a fancier setup with autoupdates for Paper and its plugins. I'm far from a professional programmer, so it's been fun to actually hack together useful things for myself.

I update all of my flatpaks, ~~snaps~~, and dnfs(?) with the click of a button in GNOME Software.

Edit: apparently I stopped using snaps at some point. Still, GNOME Software does both my flatpaks and my regular stuff.
