I think the point is that science by existing works to disprove the existence of God. For example, Darwin was not trying to disprove the existence of God when he wrote about evolution, but by doing so he supported the case that god does not exist.

If you are wondering where you are on the curve, you likely aren't too bad. Simply recognizing that you may not know everything is a bit step along the curve
Property ownership is the clearest path for generational wealth. It may suck to own, but you are building an asset and you can hand it off to future generations to have a head start with.
It's a broken system, I am not advocating for it as a good system, but it's the primary reason to own a home.
