No kidding. If you think you're creeping out women by being "a man in a grocery store" there's something off about either your behaviour or your perception of the world.

I don't care of they're cool with it, I'll use my computer how I want to. Google makes hundreds of billions in annual revenue, it's hard to feel bad for them. Calling that theft is a massive stretch, they are not losing anything except for potential profit, you could argue bandwidth but that is so intangible compared to any kind of physical theft.

Keep in mind with adblocking we're dealing with fractions of a penny per video and Google is still making money off me regardless. I directly support creators I like, sending them $10 is an order of magnitude more money than they would get over a lifetime of me watching ads.

The user should always be in control of the 1s and 0s entering their computer. Allowing some data and not allowing others is not theft. It's not all-or-nothing for which data Google sends me and recieves from me, that's absurd.

For real, NextDNS was a game changer. It's not hard to set up either.

I don't know if it's true, but there's the theory that he realised midway through his sentence that he didn't want a soundbite of him saying "shame on me"

I think Dubya was smarter than he let on, still a war criminal tho

Failed at step 1

That's not really my point. If people are demanding that everything should be free, they can just make them free and stop whining about it.

I don't see why people are so against the developer using ads. If you don't like them, you can remove them yourself with an adblocker, you don't need the dev to do that. If you consider ads an ethical violation, you shouldn't see using an adblocker as unethical.

I have not seen the film yet, but it seems like this is a biopic about Oppenheimer, not a WWII movie.

Also, do directors need to infantilize their audience by directly showing "this was bad. Here is why this was bad"? Like, obviously the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were devastating. If you have basic history knowledge you should already know that, and know that those bombings were a direct consequence from what was depicted in the movie with out it being spelled out for you.

He'd be doing a lot more good if all that money went to taxes and was spent on actual social programs, instead of him playing government.
