No samsung bacause they did some pretty nasty things on their TV platform, pushing ads and what not. No apple because it lacks freedom thar I desire. So my last phone was a pocophone F1 with lineageos, swapped it for a pixel 7a this year. I'm not even sure if that is a sane choice, but I'm not quite sure what a good alternative might be.
Samsung, Apple, anything Elon, some local solar company

This town has about 20k residents, yet we have multiple phone accessory stores. They have racks full of covers for phones I have not seen in years.
Nobody obviously. The closest you would get it probably Arch, with a lot of optional dependencies. And you are not wrong at all, if gentoo works for you. I just wonder if that all that compiletime is ever won back.
Why compile while I can let someone else do it for me? (Just to see it from the other side :))
