Yes. But that's highly subjective, as I fucking hate Ubuntu and the direction it has taken. I don't mind distros that are based on Ubuntu, though, so based on that I'd go for Pop rather than stock Ubuntu.

For the record, I run LMDE as my daily driver.

Maybe I should start one exclusively for selling crude stick figure drawings. Occasionally posting a hairy pussy pic to draw attention, as I have no talent for drawing. I am of course talking about my cats, as I am a middle aged dude.

I disagree with you, but I'm upvoting anyway, because it's refreshing to see preference for something else than the seasons "everyone" likes.

I tried doing some research into what these people like, and the only thing I found was Roseanne.

In general, yes. I've kept up since it first started airing, and it has its highs and lows, with some seasons better than others. But overall I like it.

Generally, I find that the best seasons were 5ish to 15ish. Before that it was a bit too simplistic and crude, and the joke about Kenny dying got old. After that there was a bit too much focus on politics. Sure, it always has to some degree, but I didn't find the Tegrity Farms , PC Principal/babies, and President Garrison storylines that good.

One exception dto the above is that episode (I don't remember when, or what the name was), where everyone started treating The Economy like some diety that they shouldn't anger. It was a response to the 2008/2009 economic issues, so I guess it must've aired shortly after that. I just find the entire arc of that episode hilarious, from the economic forecasts and monetary values being dictated by a weird ritual involving a headless chicken, and to Kyle sacrificing himself by taking on all people's debts.

Honorable mentions of episodes I really like: Casa Bonita, Awesome-O, Cartman dies, Good times with Weapons, The Coon (and the related episodes). And of course, the Game of Thrones parody. And I absolutely love the plot/naming twist of "The Big Fix". And what was the name of that episode that is partially depicted in the style of a Blair Witch found footage, where Craig really doesn't want to be part of the story/plot, but ends up as one anyway.

Aberdeen. It smells like piss.

Depends on your definition of "baby". It's been a few years, so I don't remember exactly, but some of thee pre-made meals you can buy at the store for babies have meat in them, and I believe they're for 12months+

I've been curious about the same thing. I have an RTLSDR usb that I used to have connected to a huge antenna, mainly to listen in on GMDSS DSC transmissions on the 8MHz band, so I could use that to plot ships around the world.

I've since moved, so I no longer have a dipole in my yard, but I need an excuse to build one.

Automation games and never played Factorio???
Screw the DLC (for now), you need to get started with Factorio ASAP. I started with Factorio in 2017 after I mentioned to a coworker that I liked Minecraft with mods that allowed for automation such as Industrialcraft, Buildcraft, and Immersive Engineering. I have played some Create, but when I did I found that it wasn't mature enough as a mod.

The DLC is mostly aimed towards end-game stuff. Whereas the base game is completed once your factory has launched a rocket with a satellite on board, the DLC picks up from there, allowing you to build automated space platforms, visit other planets each with their distinct differences.

Fun fact: Buttholes are unique in the same way that fingerprints are. So resubmitting with a new picture can be used as proof of identification and thereby licensing.

Why do I know this, you wonder? Eons ago I stumbled across this anus recognition software source base. The idea was that it could one day be used for identification instead of retina scanning.

Never noticed until you asked, but yeah, I don't think I've seen such a thread in ages.

I put Factorio on hold for now, as I'm waiting for the DLC. In the meantime I'm playing Project Zomboid with a few friends.

Eons ago, in my twenties, some friends and I had a party. There were a lot of people there, so it was pretty crowded in the couch.

A friend of mine arrived, and he was having trouble finding a place to sit, so I sat back and told him half as a joke "You always have a seat in my lap". He took me up on the offer.

After a while of him sitting there, both of us enjoying the spectacle around the table, one of us (I don't remember who) said:

"This was surprisingly pleasant"
We're both straight dudes.

Title, pretty much. I'm in a couple of niche communities, and thought I should expa d into more generalized communities. All things tech are of interest, really.

Which communities are you in?

12 Years ago I had a Sony Vaio. I quite liked it. Then in my next job, 2017 or so, I went for a Toshiba Portege, and absolutely loved it.

Guess what the above two have in common? Yup, they stopped making laptops for the professional market. So now I'm a bit at a loss. Any recommendations?

Requirements:

  • Lightweight and easy to carry around.
  • 13-15" display, preferably
  • Decent battery life
  • It absolutely must have an RJ45
  • Works well with linux
  • Good keyboard quality
  • ISO keyboard availability
  • Touchpad. Bonus points if it has the touchpad buttons ABOVE the pad itself.
