An ocean going boat isn't for a beginner. I'd stick to a car. :)

A sailing boat is tricky to manage solo, if you're on your own, I'd steer clear.

I've had a-fib and congestive heart failure, 2 heart attacks, and open heart surgery.

Each of the times my heart has stopped, I was asleep, no awareness of it until the doctors and nurses told me.

With the heart monitor, I can press a button when something feels "off", and report symptoms like being dizzy or passing out. Doc says I've been getting extra heartbeats sometimes. Low blood pressure has been a problem too.

When I pass out from low blood pressure, the first thing is I get super dizzy. Then a ringing in my ears so loud I can't hear anything. Then my vision closes in and turns red and I wake up on the floor.

Fix your PC. Yes, I work in technology, and yeah, I probably CAN fix your PC. Not my job.

I mean, permanently or temporarily? Apparently my heart has been stopping on and off randomly all year. :(

Get this... I was in the hospital in January. I wake up, check my phone... Nurse comes in.

"Were you asleep about an hour ago?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Your heart stopped for 8 seconds."

". . . Um... 'thank you'? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with that information..."

Apparently it happened a few more times in March. I have an implanted heart monitor now, always watching.

Typicaly the way a KVM worls is you connect both computers to it, then a single monitor, keyboard and mouse.

Flipping the switch on the KVM moves the keyboard and mouse input, and video output, from machine #1 to Machine #2.

I guess I'm not understanding the question...

You have a laptop connected to a docking station.

You have linux PC connected to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

You want to use the same monitor, keyboard and mouse on both machines? Switching between the two?

The monitor is the easy part, lots of monitors have multiple inputs, so you put the Linux PC on one input and the laptop dock on the other. Switch video inputs using the buttons on the monitor.

The keyboard and mouse would be tricky without a KVM switch. In theory, with a wireless keyboard and mouse, you could connect it to both machines, but you'd run the risk of using one and sending garbage data to the other if both were turned on at the same time.

I'd just get a KVM, that's what they're there for.

If the spam mobile ads on your blogspot site are any indication... Not. Really, really not.
