Wow people tell me I have a ton of storage but Im small potatoes comparted to many on here.

2TB SSD - Main Drive, 2TB SSD - Games, 2TB SSD - Other OS, 6TB HDD - Documents and crap, 6TB HDD - Movies TV and smaller games, 2TB ext HD - Backup, 2TB ext HD - Vault,

Im planning to upgrade the internal Games SSD to 4TB. Im running Linux so the 2TB for my OS is kinda overkill.

2x2TB NVMe 2x4TB SSD

On my regular desktop PC? 1.5TB spread between three drives, not using half of it. My NAS has 4TB and I'm using about 80% of it so will need to upgrade that at some point. For a supposed IT professional I really don't use that much storage.

Probably another 2TB or so spread among the various servers and Raspberry Pis I have kicking around the place, but none of them are used for anything important.

With the price of sata ssd it’s easy to slowly build an ssd raid for gaming.

128GB OS drive with a couple small games on it.

1TB M.2 SSD for most games, especially anything multiplayer.

2TB HDD for older single player games that aren't taxed by load times and bulk storage for videos/photos.

System: 1TB NVMe
Data and documents drive: Each 2TB SATA
Games: 4TB NVMe
Game recordings: 500GB HDD (crap HDD sufficient for recordings with geforce)

8TB NAS for media of all kinds and Jellyfin to watch it.

Main Desktop: 4.5TB spread across 3 SSDs File Server: 30TB of raw storage

I have 250gb, but I am a simple man. I uninstall the games I don't play and I dont downloading game more that 50gb because its just stupid.

1.5Tb. I game on a Legion 5 laptop, and it came with 500gb for the OS. Then I slapped in a 1Tb ssd in the other slot. I don't play more than a couple games at a time, so that's way more than enough for me.

I have a 500GB Windows boot drive SSD (NVMe), 1TB storage SSD (SATA), and a 500GB SATA m.2 Linux Mint boot drive.

I also have a ~25TB file/media server that's only using around 1-2TB.

9TB across 4 drives (2+2+2+3)

My desktop PC has 9.5 TB of storage installed, but that's just for game data. All my data is on my NAS with a whopping 24 TB of redundant storage

my PC has less than 2TB spread accross multiple drives, SSDs and HDDs as well. I'm running a Pi as a server, with 1TB SSD in it. Also have a 4TB backup disk, which is currently installed in my main PC, but don't really use it as an "active" storage.

but I just had a flashback to around 2000, when the whole family went to a PC shop to buy our first machine. It had a whopping 20GB HDD in it! we all was like "oh lord, this disk is HUGE! it's impossible to fill up!"

needless to say, it wasn't. sometime later my next machine had 80 gigs and I almost got dizzy on the thought how freaking much is that. spoiler alert: it wasn't that big afterall 😅

My main desktop has 1TB of storage (NVMe, fast) but I have a whole separate home server that has one 500GB boot drive and three 6TB hard drives running in a ZFS pool. (ZFS is analogous to RAID, or Redundant Array of Independent Disks. basically one drive can die and I won't lose any data as long as I replace the drive before a second one dies.) This 21TB storage bucket holds anything and everything that doesn't need to be on my primary computer. It holds all my documents, photos, music, movies, TV shows, backups, and all of my disc images and ROMs for emulation. The only things I keep on my primary PC are games I am currently playing or will play soon and programs that need to be installed or run locally. Everything else is loaded over the network as-needed. For most stuff, I can just point my applications at the network share by mounting it to a drive letter in Windows.

Never enough.

That said, if you can find a good deal on (mirco)SD cards, those can be a pretty neat solution to easily get some extra space for things you don't mind swapping out.

I wish I had nvme but my build is a little bit of a dinosaur.

I have an "everything in one" build that I also run my Plex server off of. Including the external hard drives I think I've got around 80tb, around 60tb is actually used. But that's the result of years of building, I'd recommend looking for a cheap 8tb external hard drive for games storage

Nothing compared to some here but I think I have about 6 TB in total. Why not just buy a 1 TB SSD or HDD? Storage is cheap nowadays.

I'm not sure, not at my PC right now. But if I'm correct, then I have 1TB NVME + 512GB NVME + 2TB HDD + 512GB SSD. As well as 8TB on my NAS. Plan to buy two more NVME drives for PC likely 2+TB each and then upgrade my NAS to 40 TB. And then replace my old small NVMEs with larger ones as well at some point.

3 TB. The 1TB nvme ssd my HP Omen 17-ck1000 came with, not sure which brand/model it is. And the 2tb Samsung 990 pro nvme ssd I put in it. Considering the fact most AAA games are now ~100+ GB each, I can only have like 30 games installed at a time, assuming I delete the OS and all of my files. And I use my laptop for more than gaming, so I can probably only have like 14 games max. Thankfully most games have some sort of cloud saves, so I can uninstall the games that I haven't played in a while do make room. And I also dont acually play AAA games that much. For example the recent game I have been playing, Disfigure, is only is less than a GB.

8TBs between 4 drives. They were initially supposed to each be for specific things. Now, most of them are filled with games and movies/TV.

I just recently upgraded from an old Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SATA drive to a Crucial P3 1tb m.2 drive for OS and playing games (I have a NAS for any media and file storage)

I uninstall games I've played and only keep replayable games (eg: Path of Exile, Diablo 2, Age of Empires etc).

PC has 12.5 terabytes. 2TB SSD, two 1TB HDDs, two 4TB HDDs, 500GB SSD.

Steam Deck has 512GB.

Desktop, all SSDs (technically 1.5 TB in HDDs, but they are currently offline and I migrated everything to a 2 TB SSD):

• 128 GB SATA SSD, that was my first SSD years ago :D Mainly used for work stuff, but also has Civ V, Slay the Spire, and Stellaris installed.

3.25TB (2TB+1TB HDD with 256GB NVMe) locally with another 2TB mounted over the network and used as a media server. Games take up a relatively small amount of space in my setup as I try to keep them all on one 1TB drive (and it's note even full) and I'm not playing much AAA games.

Most of my stuff in multimedia (photos, videos, uncompressed audio recordings) and backups (I had to upgrade it's drive recently as I went over the 500GB and I didn't want to store data over multiple drives)

My Linux part has 500GB space for System and Documents and 2.5GB only for Gaming (1 NVME, 2 SSDs and 1 HDD). Additionally 250GB Space for Windows with VR only stuff on it and 1TB space for VR Games (1 SSD and 1 HDD).

My PC has a 1TB SSD and my Steam Deck 512(?)GB

2TB NVME 3.0 DRAM drive for my OS and games. + an extra 2TB NVME DRAMless 4.0 just games drive.

The partner’s PC is a 512GB SATA DRAMless SSD boot drive. + 1TB SATA DRAMless SSD games storage + 1TB HDD extra games drive for less frequently used games.

The only noticeable difference is between the HDD and any of the SSDs. I’m not entirely sure if you blind-tested me on loading games between that 512 and either of my NVME drives I’d be able to tell the difference. Although I haven’t tried any of those recent directstorage games.

Two 500gb SSDs for OSs and stuff I want to load quickly (one drive for Windows, one Linux), and two 1TB HDDs as storage (shared, but primarily used as game storage from Windows).

SSDs are much cheaper these days than a couple of years ago. I would advise you to upgrade your storage with an 1 or 2 TB SSD, if you can afford it.

2x 500GB NVMe SSDs, 1x 500GB SSD and 1x 1TB SSD and an external 1TB SSD, retired mechanical HDDs two years ago and planning to upgrade to only m.2 drives in the next rig.
