80% ... what? 80% good? 80% discount?

Uploaded? Completed?

From the article:

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is 80% off until Thursday April 25 so expect to pay $5.99 / £5.29 before then, the Royal Edition is also 80% off and $7.99 / £6.99 if you want to spend a little bit more as well.

Yes, the webpage and the article make it clear- I was intending to poke fun at the missing word in the post title 😁

80 per cent

I remember playing the first one when it was just available for early access and the gameplay was understandably rough. I played a little bit and then forgotten about until last year when there were some buzz about it again. I brushed off the dust and got to experience such an immersive medieval world. 10/10 in my book

The world is indeed immersive, the dialogue and the depth of the characters and the story not so much

Hey I understand where you're coming from. I also believe that's one of the areas the sequel can improve upon. With a bigger team and budget, hopefully we'll get that

You're not wrong!

KCD2 was announced last week, a sequel to the game that was partly Kickstarted and released in 2018.

I've finally gotten around to playing through the first game over the past couple of months, coincidentally. It's got a fair amount of jank—noticeable poor voice acting and character animation especially. But the game is still very fun with some quite interesting unique touches, like the save system using an in-game resource to prevent save scumming (save & close always available though), and the directional combat system with combos leading into real historically-inspired sword fighting techniques.

I really wanted to get into this game, but had such a hard time grasping the combat.

In my experience once you get a long sword just walk backwards while spamming the perfect parry button until everyone around you dies

Though they're a little different, the trick is to have played enough Mount and Blade that you'd never tell anyone how much you've played Mount and Blade.

By that I don't mean mythical skills honed in combat. I mean cheese. Eventually the combat does click, though.

Once I reached the part where I could use the practice field with whats-his-name, I just grinded that for like 90 minutes until the combat made sense to my fingers

Just go full samurai, and by samurai I mean horse mounted archer.

Seriously… who downvoted this and why?

[-] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago

I understand the sub we are in and that this is a great game. But half of the games articles I see nowadays are what appears to be low quality commissioned articles for games on sale and also often AI written. I can see why someone would downvote that.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

So is this a low quality commissioned article?

[-] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

It's a bunch of AI generated fluff around the real news which is just that a game is on sale. You could just link to the store for the game. No need for an article

[-] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

I feel like this is the part that bothers me the most about these articles. There's no disclaimer it is AI, there's a journalist name and photo on there, but it's quite obviously an AI generated summary.

We may earn a commission when you buy through links in our articles. Learn more.

At the top of the page. As soon as I see something like that I assume it's a low effort article to get some commission off sales.

Maybe because it's a terrible title.
