The irony of this sign being photographed on a cellphone while driving takes this to the next level.

Great minds

Yeah, the angle would seem to indicate that, unless it's a British car..

Wraong side of the highway

Unless it's a British car in another country

Unethical tip so you don't get blasted on social media: Hold your phone out so it looks like it was taken by a passenger.

[-] [email protected] 12 points 9 months ago

Could not the passenger be taking the picture? Not the driver?

[-] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

Maybe, though it is funny to think this caused the driver to take this thus use their phone.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

At this point with everyone wanting to go viral, it is going to increase phones usage.

The people approving these messages are morons.

Me with android auto and Bluetooth loudspeaker: hold my beer

Calling with a hands free device isn't any safer. The danger isn't holding something in your hand. It's having a conversation with someone who isn't there

[-] [email protected] 17 points 9 months ago

What about the voices in my head?

[-] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

I think that would count as a passenger. I usually just try to ignore them

[-] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Yeah. I mean, they can see the car weaving lanes too fast and coming in our directi- DEREK SLOW D— generic crashing sounds

[-] [email protected] 10 points 9 months ago

Why is that more dangerous than a conversation with someone who is there?

[-] [email protected] 15 points 9 months ago

Someone in the car reacts to what the driver is doing. Pausing the conversation when making a turn and that kind of thing

[-] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

Inb4 AI that manages the call for you by delaying responses, etc (and whoever tries first will probably screw it up badly)

[-] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

That makes sense. TIL

[-] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

It's generally just a bad idea to distract yourself while operating a two tonne machine that can go 120 km/h. Studies have shown that talking while driving at all significantly reduces your situational awareness and reaction speed.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

Then try steering the wheel and changing gears at the same time, with just one hand. Let me know how that goes

[-] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

"Who you're gonna call?"

Mate, I already on the phone with my parents when I saw that. They're pretty good at busting ghosts, though.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

The one legitimate use for imsi-catchers.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago

spiting road signs telling me what to do by taking pictures of them

[-] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

Don't cross the streets. kelly

Average TXDOT sign.

“Gobble gobble go easy on the throttle” is still my all-time fave.
